Your day mood can easily be set within the first hour of waking up. You want to make sure you start your morning off right so you can be set up for a day of success and good vibes. Having a routine is a crucial way to start your day off right. With digital technology many people no longer have a productive morning routine. Often times our phones are in reach and when we wake up it is the first thing we grab! Try to cut that habit out and try these 5 simple tips to start your day off right.
Tip 1. Wake up 30 minutes earlier than you would usually set your alarm. No not 30 minutes before you leave! If you wake up at 7:30 to get ready for the day start waking up at 7:00 instead. The first week might be not fun but you will get accustomed to the new wake up and those extra 30 minutes will be worth it. This way if something comes up unplanned now you have extra time so you will not have to get stressed. This will also help with the next tips as well.
Tip 2. Drink warm water with half a slice of squeezed fresh lemon. This will help re hydrate your body after sleeping all night and is the best way to start your day. The lemon will help with detoxifying after your body fasting all night. If your not a lemon fan plain water is still great.
Tip 3. Oil Pulling. Oil pulling is an old Ayurvedic technique. This was all over my pintrest board for the longest time.I finally tried t out and I am hooked. This is a great way to keep up with dental health. The oil pulls all the germs out from your teeth and gums. It also helps keep your teeth white and removes bad breath. I use Spectrum organic virgin coconut oil. I take a spoonful and when you put it n your mouth it turns into liquid. Then you swish it around just like mouth wash for 10-20 minutes or less if your rushed. Make sure to spit it out not in your sink since the oil can clog it over time. After your done and spit it out rinse your mouth with water, Your mouth really will feel sparkling clean. Here is a link to what I use:
Tip 4. Always make your bed. I know I can fall into the routine of hey its not that important, I will just mess it up later. When your bed is make it presents an organized look that will help keep your mind organized and will prevent you from wanting to get back in and sleep a few minutes longer or can even do this while you are oil pulling.
Tip 5. Be Mindful. Since you got up 30 minutes earlier and have extra time use this for a mindfulness activity. This can include yoga,guided mediation,silent meditation,breath counts,praying, journal or even just writing or thinking of three things your grateful for.
